The mission of the House of Norway is to share its members' Norwegian heritage and the colorful history and rich culture, customs and traditions with each other and with visitors from around the world. Artifacts, artworks and curios are on display at the House, and friendly hosts will tell you all about them. So, stop by and visit, enjoy some refreshments, and learn more about Norway and the Norwegians. The House of Norway is located on the Prado in lovely Balboa Park within walking distance of The San Diego Zoo and the many museums and other attractions in the park.

The House is open to visitors every Sunday from noon to 4 p.m., and also open to the public from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month. It is open for school children from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on the second Friday of each month. House of Norway business meetings of the membership are held at the House at 4:30 p.m. on the first Sunday of each month except January, July and August. Light refreshments follow the meetings. We are working on establishing a children's play group for those who speak Norwegian, so look for announcements. To keep the House looking clean, we have annual Spring Cleaning events. Let us know if you can participate. Check out our newsletter for more information about all the activities at the House, and our cultural activities for cooking and crafts classes.
17 May Celebrations
The 17th of may celebrations take place on the closest Sunday to the 17th at the House of Norway in Balboa Park. On
the 17th itself the House is hosting a Norwegian flag-raising ceremony at Sefton Plaza
followed by breakfast and program at the Hall of Nations.
