Sunday, May 15: House of Norway celebrates 17th of May. Children's Parade and Lawn Program. Meet at the House of Norway at 1:30 p.m. Lawn Program, 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. The San Diego Mannskor (Norwegian Male Chorus) and the Scandinavian Children's Dance Group will be performing. Ice cream and hot dogs for children under 12 at the House of Norway after the program. Wear your bunads and bring your flags!
Tuesday, May 17: Flag raising ceremony at Sefton Plaza (corner of Laurel and 6th St.), 9:00 a.m. Refreshments at House of Norway after the ceremony.
Tuesday, May 17: Norway-Sweden Centennial Anniversary. "A Joyous Musical Celebration" at the Don Powell Theatre, San Diego State University, 7:00 p.m. Donations (checks or cash). Participation by the Swedish and Norwegian Consuls, and the Queens and Princesses of the House of Norway and the House of Sweden. Sunday, June 26: Swedish Midsummer Celebration. Decoration of Maypole and breakfast, 8:00 a.m. Lawn Program with ceremonies and entertainment, Swedish Folk Dance Club of Los Angeles, children singing traditional songs, Maypole dancing and singing, 2:00-3:00 p.m. Midsummer Fest with dinner, entertainment, and dancing, 4:30 p.m. Participation by all the Nordic cottages.
